SUPPORT FOR HATE CRIME AGAINST ASIAN WOMAN

Hi everyone,

It is with a heavy heart that I create this campaign for a dear friend who was recently a victim of a violent hate crime. She was attacked out of nowhere on her way back home by a random man. He followed and attacked her physically, punching and elbowing her repeatedly. She was struck to the ground and suffered a concussion. She tried to escape and ran away but no one helped her even if they saw what occurred. The police took longer to arrive than a friend she called for help. The process of the police investigation in itself was triggering and taxing, and currently the officer in charge of her case is on vacation. Since she doesn't have health insurance she was worried about going to the hospital until days after the attack when her dizziness and head trauma worsened. I tried calling multiple organizations for free/sliding scale medical support without success; they all told me she needed to go to the emergency room. It's been hard for her to go outside due to her traumatic experience and she is in dire need of therapy and legal support. Thankfully she went to the emergency room, although we hope that with community support we can relieve her of the stress and burden of medical expenses.

Currently, I am trying to raise funds for her medical expenses (emergency room, CT scan), groceries, therapy, legal counseling, and emergency funds for if she loses her job.
