Help Helen hear & support for rare illness
Helen became abruptly ill over the summer with a debilitating illness called Cogan's Syndrome, a rare autoimmune disease that affects the eyes and inner ears. Sadly, she has fully lost her hearing and has painful and impaired vision, along with vertigo and numerous other symptoms that have severely altered her way of life.
As a result, Helen is unable to work and her medical bills are mounting due to numerous hospital and doctor visits. On top of that, she will need cochlear implants because of her hearing loss, which is permanent. The implants will cost upwards of $200,000.
We are raising money to help ease some of the financial burden this condition has caused. Please help us to help Helen restore her hearing and buy her cochlear implants. These implants will help her maintain a better quality of life, allow her to be more aware of her surroundings for safety and hear the voices of her family again.
