Support for Hex Martinez & Family

Hello,
My name is Hector Martinez. I am reach out out to you for support during a most challenging time in my life. I have always believed in standing tall in the face of adversity, but recently, circumstances have felt me feeling overwhelmed and in need of a helping hand.
This past year has been a series of unexpected setbacks. I wish I could go into more detail, but to preserve my family’s privacy, I must make some edits. Firstly, my family fell apart. Due to ongoing abuse from a former family
member we ended up in court forced to file restraining orders, eviction notices, and a painful separation. As a result we spent months in court. Seeking justice and closure has come with significant legal fees and sacrifice. We would have to call out of work and drive an hour to the courthouse, sometimes 3 times in a week.
Fortunately, as of January 2024, we won our legal battles and were free. But as a result, we were forced to leave our homes. In an effort to save my family, I sold ALL my stock and cashed in half of my 401K in order to purchase a house for my family to live in. One buyer even stole $7000 of our money in a failed deal. Regardless, in August of 2023, I closed on my first house. Now we have a stable and safe place to live. I am tapped out, but my family is stepping in to do all they can to help pay the mortgage and their bills. But we’re running out of options. I’m starting to get reported to agencies for being late on payments.
Just when it seemed like things were going well, I was involved in a car accident that left my vehicle completely underivable. I, fortunately, had enough good credit to finance a certified preowned vehicle, but it has added another layer of financial stress to an already precarious situation.
Perhaps the most emotionally and financially draining aspect is the mounting debt accrued to driving an hour and a half daily to a job with dwindling hours and not making enough to catch up. Just today, I was told by my tax preparer that since I was not taxed on the 401K loan I took out, that I now owe the IRS over $4000.
Despite these challenges, I remain determined to overcome them and create a better future for myself and my loved ones. Every donation, no matter how small, will go to clearing my debts, covering essential expenses, and providing much needed stability during this difficult time. I KNOW we will be fine once we recover from this insane year. We have a house, we have transportation, we have food, family, and love. All we need is a little help getting over this recovery. I set the goal as $6000 as that is exactly half of my current total debt. Even that would help us get a significant leg up on this situation.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, and thank you in advance for any contribution you can make. Together, we can turn this chapter of hardship into a story of resilience and hope.
With gratitude,
Hex Martinez
