Support for Hudson & Marilyn

UPDATE: As of last week, Hudson’s doctors have reported that he has recovered sufficiently from his injuries that he no longer needs kidney dialysis. He was still not feeling well however, so on further evaluation it was discovered that he has colon cancer. It’s at an early enough stage to statistically have a good survival rate but to say this is a shock is an understatement. He now has an immediate need for surgery which will be followed by chemotherapy, and the additional hospital bills will be approximately $30,000. This as well as the amount of the original goal are above and beyond what his health insurance covers and what Hudson’s family in Uganda has contributed. Marilyn and Hudson are so appreciative of the support that has been given thus far both on and outside of the GoFundMe platform, but as you can imagine, they are increasingly overwhelmed.

Hi friends and family. I am creating this GoFundMe with a heavy heart. My dear friend and mentor's husband, Hudson, was hit by a truck in a car accident on March 1st in Uganda. His injuries were very extensive which resulted in 9 surgeries and ultimately led to him being put on dialysis.

Marilyn and Hudson both run impactful nonprofits in Sub-Saharan Africa that support education for children and youth, and healthcare to those in need. I personally have been on the board of directors of Marilyn’s organization for 3 years and have seen many blessings be given due to the hard work, dedication and love from these two individuals.

Hudson is a light to everyone around him. From our personal meetings I am in awe of his active commitment to education in Africa.

Marilyn and Hudson were married in January of 2021 and have shared several wonderful years together in Africa and in Redding, California. Treatments and bills have thus far added up to approximately $98,000 from 9 surgeries and dialysis while his kidneys are recovering.
