It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and tragic passing of our beloved sister, Ijah Se'lah Smith. On December 19, 2024, Ijah's life was senselessly cut short in a hit-and-run accident near a freeway in Yuma County, Arizona.

Ijah, a 34-year-old resident of Atlanta, Georgia, was a bright and caring individual who touched the lives of everyone she met. Despite struggling to cope with the loss of our mother to cancer, Ijah's kindness, intelligence, and generosity inspired those around her.

Her memory will live on through her siblings, Mellisha, Jahzeikel, Jahmiah, and Iffiyah, who will deeply miss her guidance, support, and unwavering love.

The Yuma County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding Ijah's death. We are heartbroken and still grappling with the news of her passing as the suspect fled the scene and has not been found.
