Support for Jamaican students impacted by hurricane Beryl
Situated in St Elizabeth, Jamaica, the students of Pondside Primary School have been greatly impacted by hurricane Beryl. Many of their homes have suffered severe or partial damage, creating financial constraints for their parents. As such, many won't be receiving gifts this year, which is why we are raising funds to give them something to look forward to on Christmas, which is a very special day for children and families.
This is an important cause to us because at Poetic Unity we believe every child should have the right to a secure and bright future and as a Black led team we have an understanding and connection to the issues in the Caribbean knowing family members who have been directly impacted by hurricane Beryl.
We are fundraising to purchase and ship barrels filled with toys, books and clothes to Jamaica for the students of Pondside Primary School. During early December a member of our team will go to Jamaica and gift them to school children, in the form of presents, during an end of term Christmas Party.
The money we raise will go towards:
Shipping barrels
Clothes
Toys
Books
