Support for James Morrison's Memorial and Family

On August 5th, my father, James Morrison, passed unexpectedly and suddenly. He had been doing well, acting normal, and perfectly fine prior to. My mom had left the house for less than an hour and came back to find him on the front porch, not breathing. My mom did CPR for ten minutes while waiting for the EMTs to arrive. When they did, they were able to get heart rhythm briefly and took him into the ambulance still performing CPR. With great sadness, I have to say that their efforts did not work. My dad died that day.

We are unaware of a cause of death. The coroner refused to do an autopsy, despite my dad's doctor demanding one. We did decide to have my dad donate his organs, and the closest we will get to an answer is what we will learn from the pathology report of what was able to be donated.

James grew up in Newton Falls his entire life. I'm sure many of you have fond memories of him. My dad was a funny guy. He was full of life and humor and until his disability made it too difficult for him, adventure. He loved fishing and hiking and camping until he couldn't do it anymore. I know I have so many stories I could tell of him and I'm sure many of you do as well. I know he made a mark on people in his too short 51 years of life.

With that, I am asking for help from the community to fund a memorial service for my father. With both of my parents disabled and unable to work, we simply don't have the funds ourselves. With the money received from this fundraiser, we would put together an event to honor his life and the mark he made on people. I am also asking for funds to help my mother in dealing with the estate after losing her husband so suddenly. It is likely that we will need to sell my childhood home. My mom simply cannot afford it alone. But to do so, there is a decent amount of work that needs done and that work requires money we do not have at the moment. I ask that you think of my family at this time and help in whatever way you can. Thank you.

Initial funds will go to creating a memorial service for friends, family, and the community to attend. Anything extra would be used to support my mother after losing over half the household income. Handling bills, home improvements, preparation to sell, transferring anything over that was in my dad's name, etc. have all proven to be incredibly taxing.
