Support for Jasmine and her family

We need your help.! Jasmine, has been battling cancer for the past five years. She was diagnosed with Stage I breast cancer in 2016. She was in her early 40s at the time and did not see it coming. Although the cancer was in its early stages, she elected to go through a bilateral mastectomy. It did not seem necessary at that time, but she did not want to take any chances, and chose to follow the harder path. She did not do it for herself, she did it for her spouse, her children and for everyone she loves and who love her.

Following the radical surgery, and hormone therapy, she was in remission for 2 years. Unfortunately her cancer returned and had moved into her lymph nodes. Treatment required more surgery, and this time she had to go through aggressive chemotherapy, followed by radiation. Most cancer survivors and their near and dear ones know, how chemotherapy can ravage a patient’s body and mind. Jazz is without a doubt, a tough cookie, and she went through the treatment and fought that battle with a positive attitude, with her beautiful smile and she did not give up, she ploughed right through it. She continued teaching Taekwondo. Most of her students were not aware that she was going through active treatment, she put on her ‘I got this’ face and completed the harrowing course of treatment.

One year later a Routine follow up testing indicated that the cancer had metastasized and moved to her bones bringing her to Stage IV. She was pulled back into treatment to slow the progression of her illness. In the interim she struggled with severe lymphedema in her left arm, and she had to have another surgery to relieve the swelling. Through all this she has never changed, she continued to be a caring wife, mother and grandmother, continued to work, continued with her hobbies such as sewing and baking, and spending time creating a magical Fairy Garden and library for the community to enjoy.

Recent testing has indicated that her current treatments have stopped working and the  cancer has progressed to her liver. She is qualified for one or more clinical trial(s), we are hopeful that this new treatment for the progression of her disease will slow down. Because it is a clinical trial most of the treatments will not be covered by insurance. We also want to ease her burden, one that she has taken on with all her might. Those who know Jazz, know she is a very talented person Jazz is a kind, warm, happy and very strong person who is always doing nice things for others.  She is willing to help others, but is reluctant to ask for help for herself.

If It is within your power to ease her burden, especially the cost that comes with medical treatment. It does not have to be much but every dollar will help with improving the quality of her life. The past five years have been, mildly put, rough, and many challenges lie ahead. Please help, if you can. Let us do the best we can for her, because she would do the same for you, no questions asked. She has earned our love, our prayers and any gift will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for prayers and caring.
