Support for Jeff, Pip and family during Ethan's recovery

Donation protected
On Saturday 22nd February Jeff and Pip experienced every parent's worst nightmare, when their 20 year old son Ethan suffered a major stroke. Ethan was unresponsive when they tried to wake him, unable to speak and was in-and-out of consciousness. They quickly got him ambulanced to the brain trauma specialists at Aintree Hospital.

Scans showed two large blood clots deeply embedded in Ethan’s brain. He underwent emergency surgery to drain the build-up of fluid and relieve the swelling; he has since had a permanent shunt fitted. Ethan is making positive progress each day, but he has a long journey of recovery and rehabilitation ahead.

Currently Ethan is still in hospital and there is no timescale for him returning home. Jeff runs his own domestic appliance repair business and can’t take any extended leave due to loss of earnings. We would love to take away any financial stress from this situation and enable him to focus his energy on Ethan’s rehabilitation, alongside Pip.

Jeff has always been the kind of person who puts others before himself, offering his time and energy to help those in need. Now, as he focuses on Ethan's recovery, it's our opportunity to give back (not that he'd ever ask for it himself!)
