Support for Jessica Camp

Hey everyone , I am one of Jess’s closest friends Nicole. I have known Jess for almost 20 years, we have been through a lot of life together . All the highs and lows . Jessica is not only my closest friend but she’s like a sister to me, and at this time needs much support and prayers from everyone . Jessica is always someone who would be there for others no matter what, but at this time she needs all the support and love as she goes through this battle.

Jessica Camp is a Type 1 Diabetic and was diagnosed at such a young age, 18 months old. With living with this chronic disease for so long , over 30 years , it is really taking a toll on her body . Jessica has been battling since 2020 with infections with her feet . First started with her right foot and now since 2023 she has been battling an infection in her left foot. She has been through many surgeries and procedures to try and heal and save the bone and foot . But nothing is helping and she isn’t living a quality of life that is suitable for herself or her son . At this time the doctors have told her the only option is to do a below the knee amputation on her left leg. Jess will have surgery on February 8th . This will be the only way that Jessica can have a quality life that she deserves and to not live a life in pain everyday . This will be extremely life changing for Jessica as she goes through this surgery and also going to a rehab after to heal and learn the new ways of life .

Jess had to take a leave from her job at this time to focus on her surgery and healing . With no income my goal is to spread awareness and try and remove some stress on Jess . Not only is this an extremely hard time for Jess but it’s also for her son Nicholas and her family . Nicholas is her strength and world . Nicholas said to her the other day “mommy after surgery will this mean you won’t be in pain anymore ?” “ I don’t want to see you in pain” . That is exactly what Jess wants , no more pain everyday .

Diabetes has taken way too much from Jess and it’s time she gets her life back and live the life she deserves . Jess is one of the strongest women I know . She has been through so much and she never gives up . She holds her head up and fights whatever battle is in front of her . Including this battle she is in , she is fighting and staying positive.
