Support Caden, Jet & Bip

If you’ve ever met Jet and Bip Roberts then you know they would stop at a moment's notice to help a family member, a friend or even a stranger. They represent what it truly means to be an integral part of a local community. If you shop or eat in downtown Salisbury then you know their familiar and friendly faces are always there to lend a hand, an ear or to make you laugh. They’re woven into the fabric of Salisbury and everyone that knows them, can’t help but love them. This love extends to their son Caden, who we’ve all watched grow into an amazing young man with a bright future.

Caden Roberts takes after his parents, he’s loving, generous, incredibly smart (straight-A student!), funny and above all else, strong and resilient. He’s just 16 years old and should be doing what kids his age are doing, learning to drive, goofing off with friends, forming crushes, rebelling against his parents, etc…but instead, he’s in a fight for his life.

After experiencing jaw pain and numerous subsequent tests, Caden was diagnosed with stage 3 lymphoma. Jet and Bip are doing everything they can to ensure Caden has the best medical care and the best chance at beating this disease. He’s currently undergoing a rigorous chemotherapy treatment plan at Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C. This requires him to travel the 3 hours (on a good day) to DC and be admitted for a week at a time, on and off, for the next 6 to 8 months.

The emotional and mental anguish a parent experiences when their child is diagnosed with a deadly disease is beyond anything most of us can imagine. On top of all that, Jet and Bip are also carrying the burden of having to travel out of town, for weeks at a time, to receive the necessary medical care for Caden. To logistically and financially make this happen, Jet and Bip have to make a lot of difficult decisions.

They would never ask for help themselves because they’re always the ones lending a hand, so we, as their friends are asking for them. Please join us in supporting Jet, Bip and Caden on this long journey they have in front of them. We can hopefully help lift a little of the financial burden so they can focus on Caden and his recovery. We know they’d do the same for us.
