Support for Jim & Donna Lutz
Donation protected
During the summer of 2020, our Mom, Donna Fahey Lutz, was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer that metastasized to her brain. She had to undergo an emergency brain surgery and debilitating chemo and radiation treatments. Throughout her battle our Dad, Jim Lutz Jr., has been there every step of the way to support her during her ordeal.
Tragically, in September of 2021, Jim was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer. We were then dealt another devastating blow during his surgery, when the doctors found that the tumors were too massive to perform the surgery in what they described as “worst case scenario”. We discovered, along with the doctors, that his cancer was a lot more advanced than we thought. It had already progressed and spread into his bones, bladder, and spine.
Due to the aggressive stage of Jim’s cancer, a routine treatment plan is not an option. In order to give him the best chance, he may need experimental treatments, many of which are not covered through insurance. We are asking for your support to help alleviate the stress of the financial burden of these medical bills.
We have been able to rally as a family throughout Donna’s cancer battle, but now that Jim is also sick, we need more help. We are doing the best we can to support them but there is only so much that we can do. Before the cancer, they retired to Maine with their two rescue dogs. With the harsh Maine winter coming, we anticipate that they will need to hire additional help for dealing with the snow and walking the dogs, so a portion of these funds will be allocated for this as well.
These funds will also help with additional forms of healing and emotional support to make their lives as comfortable as possible.
Please help our parents by giving whatever you can, whether monetary or by sending positive thoughts and prayers. We sincerely appreciate your love and support!
Thank you all,
Love the Lutz kids
