We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Joachim Agyei, a bright and courageous young man who battled leukemia for seven years. Diagnosed in the 5th grade, Joachim faced his illness with remarkable strength and determination. Despite the challenges, he excelled academically, receiving home tutoring from his dedicated teachers. His hard work paid off when he earned a full scholarship to Harvard, which he would have attended next year, a testament to his brilliance and perseverance.

This year, Joachim returned to school for the first time in seven years, bringing joy and hope to his family, friends, and teachers. Tragically, his cancer returned, and he passed away surrounded by his loving parents.

Joachim’s parents have endured immense emotional and financial hardship throughout his battle with leukemia. Frequent hospital visits made it difficult for them to sustain their livelihood. Now, they face the heartbreaking task of laying their beloved son to rest.
