If you know Joe, you know that these two things to be true: he has the driest sense of humor imaginable, and he likes to fling himself out of airplanes for fun.
What you may not know: Joe is battling Stage 4 cancer.
Joe has been hospitalized at Grand Island's CHI St. Francis since July 20th, 2020 battling esophagus cancer. It has spread...we are hoping and praying for a miracle. He just finished radiation on August 13th and is moving on to chemo treatments.
Since 1992, Joe has been a crucial part of the community. He's dedicated his live to serving others through peer support - on the clock and off the clock. He's worked at Friendship House, Milne Detox Center, and is currently employed at Hope Harbor. He has inspired countless individuals in recovery and experiencing homelessness to always look for the hope in their situation.
Now it's time for us to show up for him. We're raising funds on Joe's behalf to help offset the cost of a long hospitalization and treatment. If you are able to give a gift - at any level - it will go a long way to helping him through this difficult time. Even if you are unable to give at this time, would you considering sharing? I know the list of people who have received support and care from Joe is long. Let's share this and get the word out there - he needs our love, support and prayers now more than ever.
