Support for Jon Akins and Family as He Recovers

On behalf of Jade Monkey Tattoo, we are asking for support to help our beloved friend and coworker Jon Akins as he recovers from a serious motorcycle accident.

On October 17, 2023, Jon was struck by another vehicle while riding his motorcycle to work. The injuries resulting from the collision were severe. He was rushed to the hospital where he was determined to have a fractured hip, multiple friction-caused abrasions, and a shattered lower leg/ankle. Unfortunately, they were unable to save his leg. The collision has resulted in him needing to have multiple surgeries to repair his hip and a transtibial amputation of his right leg. He has a hard road ahead of him, that will include rehabilitation and continued medical care, but he is strong and determined.

Jon is a loving husband and father to a beautiful 6-month-old baby girl. He is a wonderful friend, that we are all extremely grateful to have in our lives. Jon is a hard worker, who specializes in body piercing and has shown time and time again just how dedicated he is to making connections with the new people he meets every day. Anyone who has met Jon knows just how sweet, bubbly, and goofy he is. He is someone who will drop whatever he is doing to help another. He and his wife Alexis can use all the help they can get in this trying time.

Proceeds of the fundraiser will go towards his medical bills, loss of income for the family, and general expenses to keep them afloat during this devastating time. We ask for you to keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this difficult time. Thank you and we appreciate all of you!
