Support For Jon Moga

Hi everyone! This took me a long time to write this as I was hesitant. As we all know how strong and stubborn Jon is. As most of you know Jon very rarely if ever  askes for help from anyone, but is always first to offer his assitance to anyone in need. He loves doing things for others and goes out of his way to do so. Once on the way up North he gave his spare trailer tire to a stranger who had a flat tire on his trailer and asked for nothing in return. The rest of the way up North Jon had a slight smile on his face. Now we all know how Jon doesn´t like to smile, hes gotta have that tough look on his face at all times.
Many of you know Jon suffered a serious injury at work almost 3 years ago. A hot tar tanker caught fire (flashed) while Jon was working on top of it. Jon jumped and blew off the tanker and fell almost 15 feet. He shattered his Calcaneus, damaged his ankle, destroyed his tendons in his foot and ankle and got compartment syndome.
I still remember getting the phone call at work. ´´Jon is being taken by ambulance to North Memorial´´. My heart fell into my stomach, tears rolled down my cheeks, I was in shock. Jon survied multiple deployments in Iraq, and here I thought the days of me worrying were over. I never expected to get a call like this now that hes out of the Army. Now 5 surgeries later Jon is going to loose his foot. Today 5/21/2020 Jon had a below the knee amputation. This was a  hard decision for Jon to make. You all know Jon does not sit still, he always has to be doing something, ´´Too much to do, not enough time´´ as Jon says. Since his accident Jon is limited on what he can do, but nothing could stop him from playing a game of ´´pig´´ with Brianna. He is out there with his cane in his hand, making Bri chase the basketball on missed shots while trash talking her! I know he´d love nothing more to be able to run and chase her, play soccer with her or volleyball.
With the amputation Jon will be out of pain and once he gets his prosthetic he will be able to live the active life he once did. But Jon still has a very long road ahead of him, with a hospital stay, many weeks on the couch in recovery, weekly trips to the cities to have his dressings changed and many months of physical therapy learning how to walk again and possibly a career change.
With Jon being out of work almost 3 years his benefits will soon run out. Jon is the strongest most independant and selfless man I know who always shows a strong  demeanor but with his benefits expiring soon I know he worries about how he will make ends meet. He tells me not to worry and things will work out. He jokes that he will cut grass in the neighborhood in his wheel chair for cash or walk dogs! ´´the dogs can pull me around, it will be a good workout for them and will tire them out´´ he says! He always has jokes! But anyone who knows Jon, knows he would do all that and more before asking for help.
So here I am asking for your help. Help for Jon. I know at first he will be upset with me, and shocked( but thats why I am doing this while he is still in the hospital) But I also know he will be overwhelmed with joy and love for all the support and love you are showing by helping him and our family. Anything helps during this time. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Endless love and gratitude to all.
