Support for Josh King's Family and Bee
Donation protected
On October 6, 2024 a beloved member of our community lost his life to senseless gun violence. In those early morning hours, no one could have been prepared for the tragic murder of our friend, Steven Joshua King, and the attempted murder of our friend, Brittany "Bee" Etheridge. The pain and horror of that morning is simply unimaginable. Josh has been a pillar of our community's hospitality industry. This loss will forever leave a huge hole in the hearts of his family, friends, and everyone that had the opportunity to meet him, even if for just a moment. Josh's care and concern for others was genuine and allowed him to shine in this industry. We were all so fortunate to have been able to know, love, and work with such an incredible soul. Unfortunately, Josh left us far too soon. In his absence, his family members and his closest friend, Bee, are faced with sudden grief, financial hardships, and a great deal of trauma. We are hoping our community can band together to raise enough funds to provide his family and Bee with relief from the financial burden that comes with losing a loved one. Our goal is to make sure Josh's immediate family can attend his memorial services here in Spartanburg County without worrying about travel expenses and accommodations. We would like to make sure Josh's dearest friend, Bee, is able to relocate from the home they shared which has now become a crime scene and a painful reminder. It is also essential that Bee is able to obtain help from a specialist while processing this horrendous event. Josh would not hesitate to give someone the shirt off of his back if they were in need. Now it's our turn to take care of those whom he loved the most as he has done. No one deserves to leave this world in such a way as he did, and to have the opportunity to raise awareness against this form of violence would allow us to honor Josh and let the community know he will never be forgotten.
