Support for Joycelyn Jones

Dearest Family, Friends and Caring Community;

We have created this fundraiser in support of our kindhearted Joycelyn Jones. As most of you know Joyce (as she is affectionally called) has dealt with many heavy burdens in the past 16 months. Sadly, her father passed away last year and 13 months later her one and only dear sister lost her battle with cancer and also passed away. During the most critical time of her sister’s fight with cancer, Joyce was unknowingly battling major health ailments of her own. Being the strong and supportive woman that she is, Joyce put her aches and pains on the back burner so that she could be there for her loved ones during their time of need. Just a few weeks after her sister passed away due to breast cancer, Joyce was diagnosed with Myeloid Sarcoma. Immediately after her diagnosis, her team of doctors admitted her to the hospital for 37 days of highly aggressive treatments.

During her lengthy stay at The University of Chicago Hospital Joyce accumulated extreme amounts of medical bills and unfortunately health insurance will not cover it all. Thusly she and her husband are now left with a heavy financial burden.

Although Joyce is no longer hospitalized, she has a long way to go with numerous ongoing doctor appointments and treatments as she continues this battle towards total healing. Sadly, in America families must decide do we pay for needed health care and if we do, they are burden with the extreme amounts of debt. Joyce and her husband Chris are known thought-out the family and community to be loving givers. Whenever there is a need or a request for assistance, The Jones family lovingly gives. Although the Jones’s give from the heart and do not ask what they can seek in return we are now at a point where assistance on their behalf is needed. They need our love, support and prayers to help Joyce get through her battle against Myeloid Sarcoma. Additionally, as you can imagine, the financial and emotional toll of all of this is extremely overwhelming for the Jones’s. During this time when their focus should be on Joyce’s healing, Chris and Joyce are more so worried with the mounting medical bills. To assist Joyce with some of her medical bills we are asking that if you are able, to please bless her with a financial contribution. Regardless of the amount, large or small it will go directly towards Joyce’s treatment and care.

Cancer is one of the hardest (perhaps the hardest) experiences to go through and if we can alleviate just a small portion of the financial hardship on the family, that will be one less stressful burden for them.
