Support for Kamani Kirkland's family

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we must inform you that our niece Kamani Kirkland was shot and killed on May 27, 2020. One of her friends was showing off a new gun he purchased while she was driving and the gun went off and shot her. This is a devastating loss for our family. We are filled with heartache, pain and sadness.
Kamani was born 12/06/2001 she was 18 years old. She had just graduated high school less then a week before this happen 5/20/2020. She was going to start college in the fall to be a nurse. Kamani was a light in everyone’s lives and brought joy to everyone she met. She was responsible, intelligent, funny, strong, beautiful and courageous. She had a great smile and a silly yet defining positive attitude. She will forever be remembered as a joyful, and beaming example of positivity and lightheartedness. She was living her life with passion. We will miss our beloved Kamani, and with love we will cherish her memory forever.
My sister-in-law Meisa has struggled and strived to provide the best that she could for her children. At this time her family lacks the funds to pay for her funeral services. We would like to help her Mother with costs associated with this tragedy: grieving and burying her daughter, her baby. Please help this family find peace and comfort in a time of need.
As many already have asked and are eager to help in some way, we have set up a GoFundMe campaign on behalf of the Kamani's family. Any donations to the campaign will directly go toward memorial and funeral expenses.
We would appreciate whatever you wish to send, any help would be gratefully received to help contribute to assist in celebrating this beautiful soul and laying her to rest in the most beautiful and appropriate manner. We hope this will be a way to ease their burdens, show them that so many people love and support them, and that many lives have been touched by knowing them.
In the coming days, as we work to process this event logistically and to understand the required arrangements that need to be made, we will provide additional information and details about memorial services.
Please keep guns out of children's hands.
