Support for Kamila's Family
Donation protected
Kamila Maria Rodriguez Villalobos, known as Kamila Rodriguez, was a first grader at Bishop Louis Reicher Catholic School. She looked forward to attending classes every day, was a good student, and was beloved by her classmates. She loved art, reading Elephant and Piggie books, and was beginning to enjoy math. During January 2024, Kamila was diagnosed with Leukemia (a form of cancer). She endured extensive treatments at McLane's Children's Hospital, but sadly lost her battle with cancer on February 17, 2024. Kamila had a deep capacity to follow Jesus Christ and to unite suffering to His cross. Truly a unique quality for a child as young as she. In fact, during her intensive care, Kamila said, "Jesus suffered more than I." Brave and inspiring words coming from a 7 year old little girl. Kamila would often be seen with her family at church praying, and her first grade teacher, Mrs. Sherry Lopez, said that Kamila was one of the most prayerful students she has ever had. Kamila had mentioned a desire to become a Sister. She now rests peacefully in the Holy Cross Cemetary of Waco in a place where three Sisters also rest. Maria Concepcion and Agustin did what any parent in their situation would do...try to save their child. Kamila spent many days in the hospital in ICU receiving various treatments. The medical expenses for her final weeks of care are significant to say the least. This GoFundMe has been established to assist the Rodriguez Family with these expenses. The Rodriguez Family has shown a great devotion to God during this time. The pain of losing a child is unfathomable, and they offer their suffering up to God. Of course, the suffering of losing a child cannot simply be undone, but we as a community can come together to ease their burden through donations towards Kamila's final medical bill. Though Kamila's sweet, Christ-centered spirit is no longer with us on Earth, a part of her will live on through us in our prayers and connection with our Lord Jesus Christ. May the blessings you bestow upon the Rodriguez Family today be reflected as blessings in your own family. Matthew 13:23 - "But as for what was sown on good soil, this is the one who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and in another thirty."
