Support for Karen's Family in Tragic Times

Hi, everyone. My name is Grey Jones (some might know me as Kayla) and I’m here to try and raise money to help my family after the sudden loss of my older sister, who leaves behind four kids (aged 6 to 9), her husband Isaac, our mother and step-father and myself, as well as COUNTLESS friends and family.

Most of you visiting this page already know the story behind this - my sister, Karen Williams, died tragically this week, on 5/19/2024, only three months before her 40th birthday… This weekend, she and our mother took a trip with all four kids to visit family gravesites. Tragically, there was an issue with the vehicle that wound up taking her life… This happened unexpectedly and our family (especially my mom and her children, who were with her when it happened) will never be the same… Everyone else is okay (as much as we can be) but this tragedy has left a massive hole in our hearts as we struggle to truly grasp just how much Karen did for every single one of us…

My sister has always been a tremendously hard worker. She’s tirelessly taken care of her four kids, done everything she could to take care of our mother and step-dad, and devoted herself to making sure everyone else around her was taken care of. Karen was the last person to put herself first, often going out of her way to make sure everyone was eating or had taken their medicine or made it to an appointment on time before stopping to consider herself. She truly was the definition of selfless… She was our rock. My sister wasn’t only a sister to me, but a mother, a best friend, a partner in crime… She was my bonus parent, with the 13-year age gap and she made me an aunt four times over. I couldn’t thank her enough for everything she’s done for me (and everyone else) in my life and I just hope we can use these funds to give Karen what she deserves…

With this being said, my sister has left some incredibly large shoes to fill... Her husband Isaac and I have taken off work for the time being to help with the kids and take care of any arrangements. Anything donated here will be used to help take care of bills, make sure everyone is fed and has everything they need and to help with general funeral costs. My personal goal is to actually break my lease and move into the house directly beside my mother to help her and Isaac take care of the kids and funeral arrangements.

Funeral arrangements haven’t been set up yet, as it’s still too early and we’re waiting to hear back from the coroner. We will keep everyone updated on when things are arranged. In the meantime, anything donated at all will be greatly appreciated more than you will ever know… thank you for taking the time to read through this!
