Support for Katie Bender and Family

Katie Bender is a beloved 2nd Grade Teacher at Gilkey Elementary in Plainwell, MI. She has been married to her husband, Dustin for over 10 years and together they have two kids, Brice (7), and Hazel (5). Katie has been teaching Elementary Education for 5 years. She started in Battle Creek where she taught Kindergarten for 2 years and 1st grade for 1 year. She is now finishing up her second year at Gilkey.

Katie was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in February 2023. She has Stage 2 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy and will follow her treatment with surgery. Katie is still teaching in the classroom at this time and is a true Warrior!

As we all know, medical bills can be extremely overwhelming. Please, if you feel inclined, help the Bender Family relieve some of the financial hardship that their life has taken on during this time that Katie Fights Breast Cancer. The money will be used to help pay off the medical bills.
