Support for Kelley's family
On Sunday, October 23rd 2016, a dear friend of mine Kelley Tomkinson, who became my second mother over the years, passed away in a tragic house fire along with others in the house.
Kelley Tomkinson touched many people’s lives and is very well known in her community as an animal rescuer, hardworking postal worker and for her overall exuberant, loving and fearless personality. She lived life to the fullest, was braver than anyone I’ve ever met and was one of the greatest mothers I have met to this day, to me and especially to her 3 daughters. She never stopped working to make every moment with her friends and children the most fun and the happiest. She also worked diligently every day of every week to provide for her family in spite of a constant struggle and we will never forget that about her.
She left behind three beautiful daughters, ages 22, 15 and 9, and her 3 year old grandson. Her eldest daughter Jacklyn, the mother of the 3 year old boy, has never had contact with her father and lived with her mom Kelley and her son. Although Jacklyn works, she was left with little to no money to cover any of the debt that was left behind and has to keep her son in day care in order to work and go to school at night. She is almost done with school, but is now in need of funds to have her beloved mother’s ashes and memorial service and hopefully be able to terminate the lease on their house. 
Jacklyn has a strong support network behind her and is being housed and taken care of as well as her son, who is the closest thing I have to a son. We are hoping to raise enough money to tie up some loose ends, but more importantly get her mother, a most beloved soul the best friend anyone could’ve had, a memorial service to honor her and to be able to have her ashes. 
Kelley has given so much to anyone and everyone in need in spite of her own struggle. I myself feel I owe her more than I could ever repay. If Kelley has touched your life or even if you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting such a kindred spirit I hope you will help us give back to her family.
Rest in peace mom. We love you so much and miss you more and more every day.
