Updated 12/18/20:
Kelly Sharlow is an amazing human. She has been working for 6+ years at a school for children with Autism here in the Portland, Oregon area. She has dedicated her life to helping other and always being there for people when they need it. She is the funniest person you will ever meet and you will always walk away from her with a smile.
Her family is back in New York which makes things hard especially during COVID. She is being supported here in Oregon with her great support system of friends, adopted family, her partner Lauren, her older brother Grand, and their dog Murphy and 2 cats.
Kelly "Sharlow" has not been feeling well for a couple of months now, but she never thought it could be this. She has been having real intense migraines for about 4 months now. After going in for what they thought would be a routine MRI on Tuesday (December 15th, 2020). They soon found out that she would have to undergo emergency surgery to remove a brain tumor and eliminate swelling which was ultimately causing the migraines, nausea, and vision loss.
The surgery occurred December 16, 2020. The doctors are pleased with how the surgery went and they are waiting to hear back about the biopsy (with is a little scary), but the doctors are confident. Sharlow also had to undergo a mammogram because along with a mass that they have known about in her breast they found a couple more; this could have been the cause of the brain tumor but they still aren't sure yet. They have to wait to hear back about the biopsy to rule that out but again the doctors are feeling confident and so are they.
Sharlow and her partner Lauren returned home December 17, 2020. Sharlow is recovering well, and still has the best smile on her face.
Sharlow and her partner, Lauren, could use help with excess medical bills, meals, and other expenses. They know these are hard times, but truly appreciate whatever you can donate.
Thank you!
