Kenneth Andrew Moulton “Little Kenny” passed away at Fairchild Medical Center in Yreka, CA after a long battle with poor health. He was 51 years old. Kenny is survived by his wife Melissa (Missy), daughter Naomi and son Dylan. Also survived by his father Kenneth Moulton, stepmother Sally Moulton, brothers Andy (Kali) Moulton and Jerry Moulton, sisters Jessica Moulton-Hadley (Tim) and Cassie Moulton-Rizzo (Mara) as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceding Kenny in death were his mother Amy Charbeneau, grandfather Earle Moulton Jr., grandmother Jeannette Pennucci, and aunt Cindy Rose.

Kenny was born to Ken Moulton and Amy Charboneau in San Jose, CA. He arrived very early, a tiny 2.2 pound guy who spent his first couple months in an incubator. He was a miracle baby. He grew up between Santa Clara County, CA and Humboldt County, CA, graduating from Del Mar High School in Campbell, CA in 1991. His lifelong love of music started when he was just a toddler. Peter Frampton was an early musical hero and Kenny loved to sing his songs and play snippets of songs on his record player – as a preschooler he was already identifying and sharing riffs and beats that he liked. He was full of curiosity as a child, always asking “why?” “what for?” and “how come?”

Kenny was creating music and working gigs before graduating high school.

He worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years and loved caring for the elderly, while always working on his music.

Kenny aka Kenny God aka KennyFreestyle aka Kenny C, was an insanely talented self-trained musician and composer. He was a major player in the freestyle/high energy music scene in the Bay Area. He had hits such as "Stay with Me" on the radio and wrote and produced for several prominent freestyle artists. Kenny was very giving of his time to help fellow artist. He also produced hiphop both in the Bay Area and in Humboldt County.

He enjoyed making music with his family as well, producing a record for his younger brother Andy and cousin Lenoxx (“E-Town Flava”) and even got local radio play for it. Kenny has left behind a large musical legacy, much of which can be found by searching @kennyfreestyle.

Kenny met Melissa Massey in Humboldt County, CA about 20 years ago. They settled in Siskiyou County, CA in 2006 and eventually married. They have two children – Naomi and Dylan. Family was the most important thing for Kenny, and he was so proud of both of his children. He was willing to take a step back from the music industry if it meant he could take care of his loved ones, and he would re-enter it if it meant he could put food on the table. Even in times of great health struggle he would find the strength to get up and be there for his kids, which isn’t something that could be said for everybody. Not as many people know him as “Dad” compared to people who know him as “KennyFreestyle”, but those who do know him as Dad believe he was the best father one could ever have and are going to miss him.

The family extends a special thank you to Cousin Anthony Willis for being by his side and bringing a minister to offer spiritual comfort.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. With the date posted here as soon as possible. In the blink of an eye, everything can change. So forgive often and love with all your heart. You may never have that chance again ~author unknown
