New Liver - New Life! Ken's Road to Recovery!

Hello Family and Friends,

As many of you know, Dad's health has been a rollercoaster of many highs and deep lows. On Sunday, May the 12th, Dad was admitted to the ICU, and we were told he would not survive. Things took a turn when Dad was accepted at Shands of UF and finally received a liver transplant on June 13th! Now, Dad is at Shands Rehabilitation Facility and is expected to be RELEASED to go home in the next few days! Against all odds, Dad has survived and is healing!

His journey has been a difficult one in many ways: physically, mentally, emotionally, but also financially. Dad's care, even after medical insurance, has been extremely expensive. As Dad's care giver, Lori has been unable to work throughout this entire process. Now, Dad is about to go HOME (Thank God), but he will take 15 different medicines daily and continue receiving dialysis 3x a week due to his Kidneys being in failure. His healing journey will take time and will continue to be costly.
