Support Khena & kids after the Munjoy Hill fire
Donation protected
The residential building fire on Saturday, January 29th, 2022 on Munjoy Hill in Portland, Maine, devastated not only the two burned units, but has also displaced the residents of the apartments in the entire strip. One of those units was home to a Portland Public School family; Khena Ok, her twin sons in the 2nd grade, and her daughter in the 8th grade.
While there was minimal damage to the family's apartment, they are waiting in limbo to find out if their unit is stable and inhabitable or if they'll need to find a new home. They have been staying in a hotel, while continuing to work and attend school, and are actively seeking out alternate housing while awaiting further information about their residence.
- Khena's Venmo is also an option if you want to contribute to her directly: @Lakhena-Ok
If you happen to have any connections on finding short-term and/or long-term affordable housing for them, all ideas are welcome.
Feel free to send along to others who have inquired about ways to help.
Let's rally together as a community and help Khena and her children during this time of upheaval and uncertainty.
Thank you all!
