Support for Krista Clark and Family

Krista Clark is like many mothers we know.  She’s loving, caring, nurturing and most importantly she would do absolutely anything for her children.  Only this mother has had to endure circumstances that no mother should ever have to deal with.  Krista has 4 beautiful children.  Twin boys Jett and Jagger-8years old and Jack who has just turned 6. They are predeceased by their sister Jaylyn 10 years old.

Just to give you a bit of a back story here.  Krista’s daughter Jaylyn was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma cancer when she was just three years old.  She fought an incredibly hard battle for 7 long years with everything she had.  Always with her mom by her side fighting with her.  Unfortunately Jaylyn lost her battle in November of 2019.

 As if this tragedy wasn’t bad enough, Krista after just a few short months of grieving the loss of her daughter had to return to work to support herself and her three boys.  Krista has dedicated 10 years of her working career at a Long Term Care facility at Marshall Gowland Manor, where she is so loved by all staff and residents.  

As Krista was trying to get her life back to some type of normality she started to experience severe lower back pain.  Thinking that she has just injured herself at work she sought medical help.  Doctors sent her for all the usual tests.  Blood work, scans even a colonoscopy.  After a couple of weeks of being poked and prodded doctors finally discovered that the immense pain that she had being suffering with and still working with was Stage 4 Squamous Cell Carcinoma.  The cancer by this time had now metastasized to her liver, lung, colon, uterus and her lymph nodes.  At that time they deemed her Terminal.  She had an appointment with a surgeon in London, hoping that maybe they would be able to surgically remove some of it, but unfortunately he told there was nothing at all they could do for her.

Due to COVID, treatment was delayed for months.  Finally Krista was able to start her first round of a very strong Chemotherapy.  She has currently done four rounds of this Chemo equivalent to four months.  She has stayed positive and strong through this whole ordeal.  Never complaining or feeling sorry for herself.  It’s always just been about fighting to stay alive for her boys.  

The doctors have just this past week sent her for scans, to see if the Chemotherapy has slowed the progression of this very aggressive Cancer.  Unfortunately the scans showed that the Chemo has done absolutely nothing, and there is now 40% more growth to the Cancer in Krista’s body.

Bluewater Health is now no longer able to help her and she is being sent to London Hospital.  Hopefully to find some type of alternate treatment to prolong her life.  

This GoFundMe page has been created to help Krista financially with her ever growing boys and house hold bills, medical expenses, travel to and from London, parking, gas and of course meals.

All of you reading this can just imagine how much of a financial toll this has taken on a single mom.  All Krista has ever wanted is for her children to be happy.  To have the things they want and to of course be loved which they are immensely.  Christmas is right around the corner and we are hoping and praying for a miracle.  

We know we don’t have to remind those of you who know Krista how wonderful of a daughter/sister/friend and all around person she is.  We want her to stick around for as long as possible and we are going to do everything we can to make that happen.
