Support for Krista's Family in Tragic Loss

Hi all,

We are the “Wildwood Girls” friend group of Krista Handlin and we need your help and support. Our dear friend, Krista, the ultimate empath and supporter to all of her friends and family needs our help because the unthinkable has happened.

It all started on Saturday afternoon as Krista and Joe Handlin were preparing the house for their daughter, Kenna’s, First Holy Communion taking place in a few weeks. Joe was working outside, doing his usual yardwork and house maintenance- cleaning gutters, powering washing, etc. when he was on the roof and fell. Krista responded to his fall and immediately called 911. Initially, Joe was coherent and the outcome looked hopeful but things took a quick turn for the worse. Krista and their family supported Joe through their presence and prayers while tests were being performed but Joe’s condition continued to decline. On Monday, they received devastating news that Joe wouldn’t survive. Joe was an organ donor, so this bought some time for his family to squeeze in a few more moments of love and sadly, farewells. At 3am on Wednesday morning with all of his family by his side, Joe did a ”hero walk” to heaven for the donor transfer. Kenna, Julie, and Joey have lost their father and Krista has lost her husband. This man was the light of their life and the thread that kept things together. We are asking you to help with any donations you can provide to support this family in their time of sorrow. With our support, they can focus on how to cope with this void in their life and hopefully not worry about finances while doing so. Joe was an exceptional father, family man, and friend- we can only hope his soul will live on through those who loved him most. Thank you for your support as this family mourns this huge loss.
