Support for Kristin's MS Treatment

Kristin is a loving mother and caring friend to many of us. Over the last decade, Kristin has been struggling to fight the progression of Multiple Sclerosis (MS). This horrific disease has stolen her quality of life. At just 48 years young, Kristin struggles to walk and perform minuscule tasks, that people often take for granted. If you have ever known someone with progressive MS, you know how much of a detrimental impact it can have on their daily life.
Kristin has also faced many hardships over the last 10 years, making the fight with MS evermore difficult. While working hard, focused on getting both of her children through college, her husband left her, leaving her thousands of dollars in debt. This resulted in overwhelming levels of unneeded stress. In the world of MS, stress is a trigger for flare-ups, which causes further damage to the body’s nerves.
Kristin’s family has been a strong support system for her along the way. Her parents and sister both gave up their living quarters to aid in her recovery. This has been extremely difficult on her mental state, because she is no longer able to be self-sufficient. Kristin often must rely on or ask for help from others to do every-day tasks that she used to do with ease. As of now, due to her current health condition, there is little to no chance for Kristin to be able to live on her own again.
There is no cure for MS, but we have finally found a treatment that may help stop the progression of the disease. That may give her a new hope, a chance to walk again unassisted, and possibly reverse the negative effects that MS has had on her quality of life. Kristin has been approved for a stem cell treatment based on her current condition and medical history. Ultimately, our deepest desire is for Kristin to be able to live a normal life, to become more self-sufficient, and maybe someday regain the ability to live on her own, once again.
Kristin currently does not have the financial means to fund this treatment. Therefore, we have started this fund to help raise money to pay for the stem cell treatment with the hopes of ending the progression of her MS.
