Support for Lacombe City Cinemas
As a fellow Lacombe community member and a long standing resident of the area, I couldn’t sit back and do nothing when a local business is about to go under! Lacombe City Cinemas owner Jamel Fares & Family have owned the theatre since 2016. If you’ve gone to the theatre, you know the friendly faces and how genuine they really are! It’s been an incredibly difficult year for many, and for the Fares family, being closed for 9 months out of the last 14 months has been devastating. While there has been some relief from the government, it hasn’t been enough to cover all the expenses. After reading the news article where Jamel was interviewed and on the verge on bankruptcy, I felt the calling to put into action what this community truly is about. I know there’s many people who feel the same, and just aren’t sure how they can help!
If you feel the urge to help, there are a few ways. You can donate money through this link or Send an etransfer to [email redacted]. Any amount is appreciated. You can also sharethis with your friends. And you can visit the theatre Monday-Saturday 3-6 pm to buy popcorn and other goodies. All of which will help!
As a fellow Lacombe resident, I know we can somehow all come together and make this load a little lighter for them! Nobody likes asking for help, and in fact I reached out to Jamel to seeif I could start a fundraiser for them. He agreed and was more than thankful. Any and all funds raised will go to help with costs and operations of his business. And hopefully we can help them stay open for us to eventually enjoy the theatre atmosphere once again.
Thanks in advance! Appreciate you taking the time to help a fellow business owner out!
Sincerely,
Karlee Prins
