Support for Laurie Dunkley
Laurie was in a terrible accident on Sunday June 27, 2021. While saving her beloved fur baby Eva, she was hit by a train. Laurie has sustained many substantial injuries including a shattered pelvis, cracked skull, and the loss of one kidney. She was in a coma and intubated until Wednesday June 30th, when she thankfully awoke. Eva is okay and in the trusted hands of Laurie’s best friends Katie & Fraser. She is healthy but terrified after such a traumatizing event. Laurie is so thankful to be alive and still processing everything that has happened. She is feisty as ever, even in her moments of fear at her new reality. We are still unsure the full extent of her injuries. She is being monitored closely by the fantastic staff at the hospital. Laurie's recovery is expected to take at least a year if not longer. Although we as a community can not take this pain away for her, any donation you can make will help ease her financial stressors. Thank you, we will post updates as we get them ♥️
For those who do not know Laurie closely she is one hell of a woman! She was born and raised in Prince George, BC. Where she used to coordinate and host EDM nights for her fellow music lovers. With determination in her heart she set out to Vancouver, BC where she has been building a life for herself over the last 9 years. Previously a field medic she switched careers to become a safety officer. All so she could be close to home for her fur baby Eva, who if you haven’t guessed by now is her world! An avid photographer and car enthusiast Laurie was supposed to be helping with media coverage for the drift spec competition being held this weekend (July 6-7th). Something she had been preparing for the last three months. Laurie is devastated she had to miss such a wonderful opportunity. We are hopeful another opportunity will arise for this powerhouse once she is healed and ready.
