Support for Le Hoang Nguyen and BLM
Donation protected
A few weeks ago, Lê Hoàng Nguyên, a proud American of Vietnamese descent, used his personal funds to put up a Black Lives Matter billboard in the Southwest Area of Houston, Texas (also known as Bellaire or Chinatown) in an effort to support the fight against racism. Southwest Houston has the highest concentration of Vietnamese immigrants and is the major hub for Vietnamese businesses.
Unfortunately, his message of racial equality was not well received by all. Nguyên has received death threats and damage to his business. His insurance agency has lost some of its biggest and oldest clients. He is responsible for a dozen innocent employees who have been impacted by his stance.
We have known Nguyên for almost two decades and have the utmost respect for him as a businessman, mentor, and an outstanding member of the Vietnamese community. He has donated thousands in support of college scholarships for Vietnamese-Americans, schools in Vietnam, and leadership camps for Vietnamese youth.
Nguyên has worked hard to build his insurance business from the ground up since 2001. For nearly two decades, he has been in the business of protecting his clients and their families. In his time of need, let’s return the favor.
Nguyên agreed to this GoFundMe with the stipulation that we manage and steward the funds to ensure that they will be used for payroll purposes, security measures, and expanding the BLM message in the Vietnamese community. We can provide the documented accounting upon request.
Thank you in advance for supporting our message of equality and love,
Ngoc Anh Nguyen, Quynh Vora, Bao Huong Hoang, Teresa Nhat Mai Wang, Jacqueline Thanh Giang Dan, Linh Duy Hoang
Who we are: social justice advocates, proud members of the Vietnamese-American community, mothers, daughters, sons, businesswomen, professionals, community leaders, and proud friends and supporters of Lê Hoàng Nguyên.
We understand in a pandemic and economic downturn, not everyone can support financially. You can still help by going to www.vietsforblm.com and signing the petition to show the world that Nguyên is not alone in supporting BLM and the fight for social justice.
The views expressed here are solely ours and not that of any organizations.
