Support for Linda & Rick after heart attack

These are our incredible and loving grandparents, Linda and Rick Willoughby, our Mimi and Papa. The world is so much brighter with them in it.

On July 14th, Linda suffered a massive (widowmaker) heart attack, sending our family into a frenzy of shock and distress. When we heard the news, we were devastated. Not Mimi, we said. She takes great care of herself, how could this be?

After undergoing immediate surgery to get a stint put in, we are so thankful and blessed that she has survived. She received a temporary heart pump to keep her blood circulation at proper levels for her heart, and then needed heart dialysis to extract fluid. She is still currently in the ICU with hopes of no longer needing the dialysis in the next two days. Only 12% survive this kind of heart attack, according to the American Heart Association, and she is on the path to make a positive recovery. We are relieved that she’s pulled through and is making long strides at getting back to herself. Through it all, Linda has kept a smile on her face, joking, laughing, and spreading her infectious joy to everyone who visits, including her nurses and doctors.

Most of Linda’s medical expenses will be covered under Medicare, but while she remains in the hospital, Rick is out of work and unable to make everyday ends meet. We are asking for any support you can offer to help get them through the rest of her hospital stay and the necessary home care she needs while she recovers including help with bills, groceries, etc.

Linda and Rick are pillars of love and kindness, and they love with all of themselves, give anything they can to those in need, and love God more than anyone else we know. Absolutely anything helps, and all proceeds go directly to them. Even if you're not able to donate, just sharing this helps tremendously.
