Support for Lisa Broderick

At 3 A.M. on January 28, 2019, my sister woke up to the sound of my mom calling for help from her bedroom. She rushed my mom to the ER where she became unresponsive. It was at this point that my sister had to make the decision to have my mom intubated. My mom had been sick with flu-like symptoms for several days at this point when it took a drastic turn for the worse. She is now in the hospital ICU on a ventilator fighting for life as influenza B, Staph A pneumonia, and Staph A in her blood ravage her body. With me living in Chicago and my mom and sister in Colorado Springs, this has put a lot of strain on my sister. It makes it difficult for her to be there as much as she can for my mom because she has to work and is unable to afford to take a lot of time off. I'm asking for your help as I know that my sister won't do it for herself. Even if my mom is able to be taken off of the life support, she has a long journey ahead of her in order to be well enough to even consider going back to work. This financial burden along with the medical bills is one that my family is not prepared to face. My mom and my sister are such kind and loving people and they are in need of help. I humbly implore you that if you are willing and able to please help my family through this difficult time. We would truly appreciate anything that you are able to give.
