Support for Lori Ryan

As most of you know, Lori’s husband, Rob Ryan, passed away on July 27th, 2020. He was diagnosed 25 days prior with a Grade 4, inoperable Glioblastoma. Brain cancer.
Rob was so brave; Rob was a fighter. In 2016 he was diagnosed with Leukemia- he went through years of painful bone marrow biopsies, spinal taps, blood transfusions, MRI’s, CT scans and chemotherapy. It was a long, difficult road but he fought his way to the finish line. In March of 2019, he was declared cancer free. His focus and determination paid off; he beat cancer.
What we did not know was that less than a year later, a silent beast was growing inside his brain. It grew so quickly and so quietly that we didn’t see any symptoms. Mid-May he noticed a foot drop and the right side of his body was weak, they went to the doctor right away and one by one, diagnoses were eliminated. Finally, on July 2nd after a trip to the Soin ER because they thought he was having a stroke, they found that awful beast. Brain cancer. Glioblastoma. The worst-case scenario. They told us with no medical intervention, he’d have from six to eleven months left to live. He lived only 25 days.
He fought so hard only to be swiftly taken by a vicious disease. Our hearts are shattered, and it seems impossible that we must step back into this world that keeps spinning.
Lori is facing a mountain right now. Her grief is overwhelming, and her place of employment is where they first learned of Rob’s diagnosis. She is one tough, resilient lady but right now she needs help. We are asking for any assistance with the medical and funeral expenses as well as cost of living as she navigates life through the shock, pain, and grief.
We remember how you helped our family in the past with Rob’s medical expenses from Leukemia. We remember the outpouring of love and support you showed us. We are humbly asking that you show our Mom the same love and support as she truly needs it right now. She lost her best friend, her partner, her other half and we want her to know that she still has so many that love her and that she is not alone.
Thank you.
