Support for Louie & family during his transplant journey

As friends and family of Ruth and Tommy will know, their son Louie was born with end stage renal failure. In the last 14 months he has undergone many interventions, surgeries and blood tests and has recently started dialysis.

Much of Louie’s life has been spent in hospital and that comes with long periods times off work for his parents so they can be there for him. The end goal for Louie is a kidney transplant which is hopefully on track to happen at the end of 2024. Both of his parents are in the process of undergoing lots of tests in London to see who has the best kidney to donate to him (they are both matches). This essentially means a stay in London, major surgery for both Louie and one of his parents and a lengthy recovery in the near future.

With their permission, I have set up this just giving page to try and relieve the financial stress on this amazing family when these major surgeries and recoveries are happening and to allow them to have the time off work needed to be together as a family on this big journey ahead. Any donations will be very much appreciated and the money raised will go directly to Ruth and Tommy to use for whatever they need to ensure that they can continue to focus on Louie’s care throughout his transplant journey.
