Support for Lucies recovery after a leg amputation
My friends are a hard working family who run a pub in Kirkby Malzeard in North Yorkshire. Like a lot of hospitality businesses they have been hit by the lockdown and now their world has been turned upside down due to a tragic accident in which their 19 year old daughter Lucie was involved whilst trying to rescue her mum from a smoke filled car.
Lucie is presently fighting for her life and is in a critical condition in the Leeds General Infirmary. She is receiving life saving treatment which has resulted in her having various operations of which one has resulted in her losing a leg.
Lucie has a very long and challenging journey ahead of her and her family will accompany her on that journey but this will be a nightmare - not only due to Covid, the logistics of travelling to and from Leeds and also adjustments to help with her rehabilitation back home for her additional needs when she is ready.
I want to sum up a little about Lucie. She is an absolute superstar at 19 years old she goes to college, she works a part time job at a nursery and also helps her parents out in the pub when needed. She is a much loved sister and auntie to her nieces and nephews. She has many friends and is well liked in Kirby. She is great on the karaoke and has a fantastic sense of humour. Best of all though - she is loving and kind.
I am hoping to raise funds to support Lucie and this hardworking family through a very challenging time to give them one thing less to worry about at this difficult time.
Any donations will be greatly appreciated no matter how small and if you are unable to donate then please just share this story.
