Manny Kodila family support

Manfred A. Kodila, 73, passed into the eternal OM on December 4, 2024 peacefully at home.

Manfred was born April 14, 1951 in Indiana Pa to Geza and Julianna (Kaffine) Kodila. He grew up in Farrell Pa, leaving as a young man to play guitar in numerous bands in Youngstown, New York, and later in Allentown. He attended the original Woodstock Music Festival.

He later cofounded PASCAL (Pa Assoc of Songwriters, Composers, and Lyricists) in Allentown. He also played in the Billy Goodman Band in the SF bay area.

Manny was primarily a musician but wore many hats over the years. Such as real estate sales, store manager at Wall to Wall Sound and Video,

and inside sales rep at D&H Distributing Co.

He was an exceptional artist who is known for his space paintings. He loved Star Trek, reading Robert Heinlein and was a WWII buff.

Health issues preceded his introduction into the recovery community in 2007. He became an active member of the community, serving in most group positions and York Area. He attended many recovery conventions and celebrations, deejaying a few events as well.

He was employed by Gaudenzia in Harrisburg, Colonial House in York, and a driver at White Deer Run York.

Most recently, Manny was employed as a Behavioral Health Technician at The Ranch in Wrightsville, Pa.

He loved running the Recovery Dharma meetings and kept a few guitars there to play or teach. He was loved by his coworkers and clientele and is known by his trademark phrase, "OMMMM".

Surviving in addition to his wife Laura are two daughters, Jessica and Rebecca, and one grandson Julian, all of York, and a sister, Peggy Parkinson (Tom) of Mantua, Ohio, siblings in law John Manley of Allentown, Susan Manley of Hedgesville WV, one niece, Destiny (Tony) Matulewicz of Hollywood FL, and cousins in Germany.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Just For Today, 1337 East Market Street York Pa on Tuesday December 17 from 5:30 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family to assist with expenses may be made here.
