Support for Marisa Ward
Donation protected
My name is Tia Gore, and I’m setting up this GoFundMe with my family to support my cousin, Marisa Ward. Marisa has a long history of issues with high blood pressure, which has caused her a lot of medical complications, hospital stays, and missed work. She’s never asked for help, and she wouldn’t do it now if this was up to her, but it’s not. She needs all the help and support she can get, and that’s why my family has opted to set up this page.
Backstory
On Monday, September 23rd, Marisa went to East Liverpool Hospital because her left arm and hand were numb. She was life-flighted to Allegheny General, where they determined she had two mini-strokes and a small brain bleed. She was watched carefully in the neurological ICU. Her brain bleed stopped, and her vitals were stable, so she was released on Wednesday, September 25th. Wednesday evening and all day Thursday, she was feeling nauseous and out of sorts. She was taken back to East Liverpool Hospital on Thursday where she collapsed from a heart attack. She was shocked four times and life-flighted back to Allegheny General close to midnight. A heart cath found that her right coronary artery was 100% blocked, so she had two stents put in and was taken to the cardiology ICU. On Saturday, she was taken off sedation and the ventilator but had another stroke shortly after. She was given TPA to reverse the stroke symptoms and moved back to the neurological ICU where they found another brain bleed. After a long weekend, Marisa is awake and talking, but she is very confused, has no short-term memory, and has no mobility in her left arm and hand.
Costs
Marisa is slowly moving in the right direction but will have a long recovery period where she’ll be unable to work. This GoFundMe will be used to help cover the medical costs she’s incurred during this ordeal, as well as pay for all the other bills waiting for her at home. Marisa also has four children, with one a freshman in college, so any donations made will also go to making sure her children’s needs are taken care of.
How You Can Help
Marisa is as tough as they come with a heart as big as her vivacious personality. She would do and has done anything and everything for anyone – especially her children. If you’ve had the pleasure of meeting Marisa, you knew within minutes the kind of warm, caring soul she shows the world. Let’s show her some of that back. Any help or support is greatly appreciated – monetary donations, visits, prayers, kind words. My family is extremely grateful for all the encouragement and support so many people have already shown and is so thankful for your consideration to help here. Please share this link on your social media pages if you can. Love and peace to you all.
