Support for Maryam and her Family to Evacuate from Gaza
Donation protected
Maryam is a 6 year old girl from Gaza. She has been displaced for over a year in Gaza with her parents and siblings. They have spent a large portion of the last year living in a tent in crowded, unsafe, and unsanitary conditions. Currently they are in an apartment, but like the rest of Gaza, there is no running water, electricity, heat or cooling systems. There also is not enough food, clean water, or adequate health care. Airstrikes and shootings are frequent and without warning. No where is safe in Gaza.
Maryam's health is of serious concern. According to the medical reports shared with me, she suffers from a rare skin condition called Panniculitis with dermal and subcutaneous necrosis. The condition covers her entire body from head to toe and causes significant pain and discomfort. At times her skin wounds bleed and there have been days she cannot open her eyes or move her body at all due to the extreme pain.
Maryam needs urgent care and she is unable to receive that in Gaza due to the genocide. Initially, Maryam did not qualify for emergency evacuation because her case was not considered life threatening. Thankfully, Maryam was referred to Children Not Numbers, an NGO based in the U.K. They have been working toward an eventual evacuation. was
Maryam's family consists of her father, Muhammad, her mother, Doaa, her older sisters, Kifah, age 15, and Hala, age 14, and her older brother, Hamza, age 8.
We are hoping to evacuate the whole family, starting with Maryam so she can receive the medical care she deserves as a child and as a basic human right.
Thank you for your support.
