Support for Matts Wife Kezia and daughter Aliah

Hi my name is Missy, I am Matt Bartels sister.

Matt was generous with everything that he had to anyone who was in need. He would give the shirt off his back.

We find ourselves now in the sad position to inform of his recent passing and we think of his wife and daughter who survive him. Kezia and Matt were madly in love, and they had so much fun together. Their daughter is their greatest joy and accomplishment in life and has always been the apple of his eye. Kezia and Matt married in the Philippines in Feb 2016, where Matt had been living at the time. Not long after, their daughter Aliah was born in September and they had began the long process of Spousal Sponsorship to be together in Canada to begin their family journey together. Matt worked diligently for years travelling back and forth between Canada and the Philippines to support his family and be with them whenever possible.

It wasn't until December 2020 that their application was finally approved and Kezia and Aliah were reunited with Matt and us all here, where the future had so much to behold.

On August 13, 2021, that future had once again become dim, as we grieve the loss of someone so very loved by all.

As Kezia still adapts to her new life here Canada, we ask of all our friends and our family for anyone who would wish to contribute to Matts memory to do so through his beloved wife and daughter who will carry on his memory. Matt had invested his life in bringing them here, and would have been honored knowing that there was something substantial to continue to carry them as they settle here in Canada.
