Support for Max and Tarrell Kullaway
In 2018, our sweet Max was diagnosed with Stage 3 rectal cancer. For more than three years, he has undergone intensive rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, numerous surgeries, and countless other procedures, with Tarrell supporting him every step of the way. As the cancer progressed throughout his body, he fought tirelessly to be able to continue to do the things he loved - spending time with Tarrell and Franky, exploring the endless hills of Marin County on two wheels, and building incredible bicycles in his shop. Terminal cancer is unspeakably awful, yet even on the days Max was in unbearable pain or recovering from yet another emergency surgery, he still managed to find something to smile about. Both he and Tarrell have faced this incredibly shitty situation with huge amounts of strength, resilience, candor, grace, and love.
In late May, Max stopped all treatment for his cancer and started hospice care. Tarrell has been on extended leave from work to care for him, and Max has had to close his business. We would like to help offset the growing financial burden they are now facing, as well as provide extra support for any additional palliative care Max might want (massage, home care, therapies) and cover the eventual cost of cremation and funeral services. Anything you might be able to offer is gratefully appreciated.
If you have questions about the Go Fund Me account, or would like to donate or provide gift certificates directly to Tarrell, please contact Laura. Updates on Max can be found on his CaringBridge webapge here: https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/maxwellkullaway.
