Support for McKInney Youth onSTAGE Season 14

The group started out as Melissa Youth onSTAGE, but is now known as McKinney Youth onSTAGE or MYO. MYO is in its 14th season of fulfilling our mission to bring "high quality, low cost performing arts opportunities to students in the Collin County area." MYO is a 501c3 and the entire professional staff work voluntarily to put the shows together. This allows the money to be used in the productions and for the benefit of the students. Too many performing arts groups charge a great deal of money to participate. MYO does not charge tuition, require minimum ticket sales, or require students to purchase their own costumes. MYO believes that income should not be a factor in allowing students to participate in the performing arts. That said, theatre is an expensive undertaking which is why we hold an annual Gofundme that allows altruistic giving to help support our program. We also have season sponsorships, a grant from the McKinney Arts Commission, and ticket sales to help pay the bills.

MYO has performed over 80 plays and musicals during its 14 years and many of our students have now gone on to University theatre or Community theatre. We are proud to turn out both accomplished actors AND accomplished young people. MYO believes that theatre can help teach many life lessons as well as helping young people develop a sense of discipline and community. We hope you can help us continue our mission with a donation.
