Cover medical expenses for Ian Carman

After coming back from a trip visiting family in late February,  Ian's wife, Anna began to feel ill. Shortly thereafter Ian also began to not feel well. He experienced normal flu-like symptoms, but was also very short of breath. In March, Ian sought help from his Primary Care Physician to deal with his asthma and feeling poor. Finally on April 7, Ian tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.

At that time he was told to self-quarantine and get lots of bed rest. Still not recovering, on April 15, a call was made to 911. The ambulance crew that responded talked with Ian's Primary Care Physician and all felt Ian was better off staying home, but he was placed on oxygen to help with his breathing. He also continued to use his nebulizer to help keep his airway open.

Ian was compliant, but his health continued to decline. On April 23, Ian was rushed to the hospital, hypoxic and in respiratory distress. He was treated in the Emergency Room and later moved to the ICU where he remained for two days. Having recovered some there, he was moved to the designated COVID floor where he remained for 5 more days.

Ian was discharged on April 30. He is now home recovering with his wife. In talking with him, he says he is feeling better every day. On May 6, Ian was told that he will have permanent respiratory damage from this disease.

Although Ian has medical insurance through his work, it will not cover all of the medical expenses he has incurred.

Because of all the help and support Ian has provided us over the last 15 years, it is our turn to help Ian and his wife.

We have started this fund to help Ian meet the financial obligations caused by this disease. Let us help Ian to not worry about the costs and expenses of this event and let him focus on healing.
