Support for Mel's Journey

A best friend we hold dear to our hearts, Melinda O’Brien was diagnosed with breast cancer in late June of this year.  After four months of intense chemotherapy Mel has been advised from doctors that the next steps necessary for her treatment and recovery is a mastectomy surgery, as a lumpectomy is not an option in her case.  Mel is booked in for her first surgery 15 December.  This will be followed by six weeks radiation and then further reconstruction surgery.  Melinda is a strong and proud person who is not one to ask for help.  Being a single mum of three children is a challenge in itself and with reduced income and not being able to work at this time making her circumstances even more difficult.  Mel has now been advised that this further treatment and surgeries are going to cost her $20,000 out of pocket, even with her having private health insurance, this has been very stressful for her.  If you would like to support Mel on this journey please donate to this page and lets raise money to help Melinda.  Stay strong Mel, you got this.  Get well soon xxx
