Help Iam after assault, TBI, growing debts, unemployment

Last August, while walking home in his neighborhood, Iam and a coworker were ruthlessly assaulted by a large group of attackers. Iam was punched and kicked in the head dozens of times resulting in a severe concussion, traumatic brain injury (TBI), subdural hematoma, which still persists as several CT scans have shown over months of testing. He sustained an injury to his left eye, causing ongoing vision impairment, and has been enduring consistent, debilitating headaches, ongoing physical challenges, and significant cognitive impairment since then. While the superficial trauma has shown some improvement, the most recent CTs have shown that the bleed has worsens, necessitating surgery. He will require several more months of physical rehabilitation and continuing treatment from several specialists to regain functionalit.  The cognitive deficits he has endured may be permanent, but he is remaining positive under the conditions.

After 6 months of unemployment and being uncleared medically to work, financial sustainability has become a dire and immediate concern . Medical bills continue to balloon, with no end in sight – and the typical costs of living (rent, phone, insurance, utilities, food, pet food, etc.) cannot be met. He has sold valuable possessions and reached out for favors and assistance from all reaches. It’s very uncomfortable asking for help in this way, but little recourse remains; when we’ve exhausted all options and still need help, we must call on anyone and everyone we love, care about, rely upon, as well as the kindness of strangers. The road back has proved much longer and more complicated than anticipated, while navigating several unexpected insurance changes, resets, and sudden further financial upheaval.
