Support for Michael W O'Donnell's Recovery
Donation protected
Hello!
We are the next door neighbors of Michael O'Donnell, a young and kind man who recently had a horrible accident while on vacation in Minnesota. Michael was biking with his friend on a mountain bike. He was wearing a helmet and was enjoying an adventure - something he likes to do often. While riding, his bike hit something on the road. Michael flew over his handlebars and hit a tree, resulting in a broken neck and loss of mobility in his limbs. Michael was rushed to a hospital in Minnesota. The very next day, he underwent an intensive surgery. Michael has begun to regain some feeling in his legs, very limited movement in his hands, and some movement in his arms, but has a long road ahead. Almost a week later, he is still in the hospital in Minnesota. His first step in rehabilitation will be at a facility in Chicago. Once he returns to his home in Illinois, he will require lots of care, assistance, rehab, meals, etc. since he will be unable to work and may still be wheelchair bound. Michael's current career is building stages and sets for theaters in Chicago, which he will not be able to do until he recovers fully. Michael is a great man, neighbor, and friend, and is always working hard. He offers to help with anything and is so polite and caring. One of Michael's biggest loves is his almost 2 year old puppy, Lupo. Lupo is his companion and best friend and is missing him greatly. The Banasik family has been helping take care of Lupo and has been sending Michael many pictures and videos. He is starting to be able to hold his phone, and these pictures are bringing him many smiles. Lupo misses his dad and we are praying that he will be able to take walks and adventures with him again soon. Please consider donating to help support him as he recovers.
