Support for Mike Paustian and Family

My name is Dan Keferl and I amongst many that have had the pleasure of working with Mike Paustian in his role in Gas Construction and most recently Gas Contractor Safety. Mike is a well-loved by many and truly an exceptional team member to many. Mike joined PG&E in 2012 and unfortunately on November 29, 2023 was diagnosed with a large brain tumor that was impacting his daily life. Thankfully, the doctors determined the brain tumor to be operable and he went in for surgery on 12/1/23 with the support of his family and the PG&E Family. Although the initial surgery was a success Mike has a long road ahead in his recovery, and although his positive attitude will expedite his healing, he and his family will continue to need the support of us all. This diagnoses and surgery has unknown impacts at this time for Mikes future work, and more importantly his ability to recover is paramount. For those who had the pleasure of working with Mike, know he is a great co-worker, father, husband and friend. Mike is a larger-than-life personality with a level of compassion and empathy that leaves you hopeful and cared for. Mike is a man of great character and commitment to his family and his mission at work to keep his coworkers safe each day. Mike is and will continue to be a foundation of support for the people who encounter him each day. Mike is the primary provider for his wife Allison and their 3 amazing kids. On top of the support, he provides his wife and kids, he also continues to provide for his ailing mother as he has for many years. Mike has always had a lot on his plate, but he handles it with grace and perseverance. This diagnoses will certainly be no different, as Mike embodies perseverance in everything he does. We are humbly requesting your support to assist Mike and his family through this tough time in their lives. They are a wonderful family with very close ties in their community and the PG&E family. Please find it in your hearts to support Mike and his family in the same way he supports our coworkers and community.
