Support for Mike Payne family

Kristen and Mike Payne celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary on Halloween this year. The two of them have had many good times over the years. Recently, Mike’s health took some serious turns, and we are devastated to say that Mike passed away on the evening of November 13, 2023.

Mike’s battle was long and not always easy, but he continued to fight throughout. Mike had a stroke Oct 24th, 2023. Kristen took him to the Olympia ER, where he was transported to Tacoma General because they discovered had a bleed in his brain which required emergency surgery. While he was there, they discovered that he had a blood infection, and air in his abdomen. All of which required emergency surgery. There was only one outcome if he didn't have surgery.

The emergency surgery took place, after three attempts to remove his breathing tube, they were successful, and Mike was able to breathe for 15 minutes on his own with some difficulty.

Kristen fell ill in October, and Mike's service Pup Skeeter had a syncopal attack and was rushed to the veterinary emergency clinic in the same week. The medication prescribed for Skeeter to now take daily is very expensive.

With a devastating loss of a loved one and the high cost of funeral fees, rent, insurance, and health care bills adding up, the family and friends of Mike and Kristen Payne are asking for your help. We want to give Mike the memorial he deserves, to honor his memory and say our last goodbyes. We are currently asking for donations to help cover the cost of Mike’s funeral, costs associated, and to help support the family while grieving.
